On December 30, 2011, Ashlyn Melton’s 13-year-old son Noah was killed. Noah was at his friend’s house when his friend pointed what he thought was an unloaded gun at his head and pulled the trigger, killing Noah. Since then, Ashlyn has turned her grief into activism and lobbied to get Louisiana to reform its gun safety laws.
